Angela Welch, President

Angela is a hydrologist with over 17 years of experience in water quantity and water quality management. She has provided both field and technical assistance on a variety of surface water and groundwater projects throughout Colorado specializing in landowner communication, regulatory compliance, data management, and reporting. She began her involvement with watershed groups in 2002 where she provided surface water monitoring for Silver Lake Homeowners Association through the Big Thompson Watershed Forum. She served on the Board of the Purgatoire Watershed Partnership from 2012 to 2014 and joined the Colorado Watershed Assembly Board in 2015. Angela currently works in the Water Quality Department at Denver Water.

Brandy Logan

Brandy Logan has been the hydrologist for the Stream and Lake Protection Section at the Colorado Water Conservation Board for over 9 years. She has worked on a range of topics, including population surveys of endangered fish species, basic geomorphic research, stream restoration, laboratory experiments, hydraulic modeling, and hydrology. She grew up canoeing and rafting on the Colorado River and continues that tradition with her husband and two boys.

Dirk Rasmussen

Dirk Rasmussen is the Restoration Program Manager at Colorado Open Lands. Dirk grew up in a farming community in rural northwestern Wisconsin and has lived in Colorado since 2009. He holds an M.S. in geology from Western Washington University and a B.A. in geology from Colorado College. In addition to landscape restoration work throughout Colorado, he is passionate about the expansive polar wilderness and multicultural community of Svalbard, Norway where he has worked seasonally as a guide for Poli Arctici since 2008. Currently, he lives near Leadville where he enjoys winter with his partner and Great Pyrenees for most of the year.

Jordan Parman, Secretary

Jordan Parman is a water quality scientist at the Metro Wastewater Reclamation District in Denver where he designs and manages water quality assessment programs along the urban South Platte River. He also promotes public access to water quality data through his involvement with the Colorado Data Sharing Network. Jordan lives in Denver with his wife and two daughters and he enjoys spending time in and around water camping, canoeing, skipping stones and looking under rocks for bugs.

Karlene Thomas

Karlene Thomas is a principal and owner at Pinyon Environmental, Inc., She is an Environmental Professional and licensed Professional Engineer with extensive consulting and project management experience. She has a strong background in environmental compliance, water quality, hazardous materials/waste, design-build project delivery and permitting. Ms. Thomas’ experience has led to being skilled at solving complex problems – including identifying strategies to reduce project costs, expedite environmental permitting, and negotiate practical solutions with regulatory agencies. She has a passion for STEM education and community service, is an outdoor enthusiast, avid rock climber and loves to call Colorado home.

Tyler Desiderio, Treasurer

Tyler is a professionally licensed Water Resource Engineer at Applegate Group Inc. Over the last 7-years at Applegate Group, he has gained experience working on many aspects of dam safety, dam rehabilitation, irrigation infrastructure modernization, hydrologic modeling, river/flood modeling, and many other water projects throughout Colorado. Tyler has been living on the West Slope since 2013 where he enjoys days playing in the backcountry and on the water. Tyler brings his technical experience as well as his passion for the outdoors to the CWA
